Meridian Aikido is run by our senior Sensei Tony Ecclestone (Yondan). We are affiliated to Bushido Zazen International.

Our aikido is based on Ki Aikido principles.

As members of Bushido Za Zen we gain greatly from a national and international network, not only fully covering our insurance but organising events and an annual week long mixed martial arts event.

With courses ranging from a day out to a week long training camp at Easter, we try to keep busy.

Then comes the hard bit, socialising - yes we do - a favoured pastime. Meridian was once said to be "a drinking club with an Aikido problem..."

Q: How many aikidoka does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Six... One to change the bulb, and five to say "...we don't do it like that at our dojo..."
